Mission + History

Manyet Mission

At Manyet Dance, we offer classes for ages two through adult in a variety of dance styles, including ballet, tap, jazz, pointe, tumbling and hip hop. Our mission is to not only teach dance, but also discipline, poise, grace, confidence and that working hard can produce wonderful results. We strive to teach with love and respect, in a positive atmosphere, where learning is fun. We hope to instill the love of dance in the hearts of our students so that they can enjoy it for a lifetime.

Manyet History

Manyet Dance was opened by Ms. Amy Manyet Geiman in 1984. She grew up dancing in Northern Kentucky and continued her dance education through college, dance conventions, and dance teacher training courses. Amy’s passion for dance and for helping others learn led her to open her own studio. During the time the studio was under her ownership, Amy trained many teachers and students, started the Manyet Dance Troupes that competed (and still compete) regionally, grew the studio from one location to two, won numerous awards, was recognized for her choreography, had dancers go on to dance professionally, and instilled pride and a sense of giving back in dancers who committed their time and talent to many charity and volunteer events.

In September of 2010, Lisa Davis took over ownership of Manyet Dance. Lisa grew up dancing at Manyet, having started at the age of two. Like Amy, Lisa also pursued her passion for dance and teaching through dance teacher training courses and in college, along with earning a college degree in education. Lisa has continued with the values and standards and solid foundation built by Amy, while also keeping up with the current dance trends. Lisa has brought in outside professionals to teach workshops, expanded the dance troupes, taken competition groups to national competitions in Las Vegas, Orlando, and Panama City — where they received national awards — and has also added a third studio location.

Being in business for over 30 years has led Manyet Dance to be solidly rooted in the community with dancers starting as small children, returning as adult dancers, and bringing their own children to Manyet. Manyet Dance has truly become multi-generational with families that share their love of dance. We hope you can also make Manyet Dance a fun and enjoyable part of your history!
