Tiny Tunes
Ages 2 and 3

A creative play class incorporating favorite childhood songs and actions. This class helps to develop interaction, expression and coordination. They will also perform one song with movements in our annual recital. Each child may bring one parent participant into the class. This ½ hour class meets once a week.

 

Toddler Dance
Ages 3 and 4

This class meets one hour per week. It is an introductory level of dance which incorporates ballet, tap and tumbling. Each class performs two dances in our annual recital. Our toddler dancers must be potty trained and 3 years old by the first class.

 

Combination Dance
Ages 4 and up

This class meets once a week. Our combination dance class meets 1¼, 1½, 1¾, or 2 hours per week depending on the student’s age. Our 1¼ and 1½ hour classes include ballet, tap and tumbling. Our 1¾ and 2 hour classes include ballet, tap and jazz. Students usually move to a 2 hour class at approximately 8 years of age.

 

Pointe
Ages 11 and up

This class meets 45 minutes per week. This class is an extension of the student’s ballet class and teaches the student the beautiful art of dancing on her toes. Students must have at least 3 recent, consecutive years of ballet training, has competed the pre-pointe class and has permission from their current ballet teacher in order to participate. Students in this class must also be enrolled in a 2 hour class.

Junior Jazz
Ages 5 to 9

This class meets 45 minutes per week and is a fun way to dance and exercise to the popular music of today.  Classes are divided by ages.

 

Hip Hop
Ages 5+

Hip hop is a funky street style of dance.  The classes are broken down into different ages and levels.  Recreational classes require no previous experience and classes are 45 minutes in length.  Advanced classes require two years of previous hip hop experience and are one hour in length.

 

 

Lyrical
Ages 8 to 18

This class meets one hour per week and is divided by age groups. Lyrical dance merges ballet and jazz techniques to challenge dancers to interpret music and express emotion through movement. Dancers must have 2 previous, consecutive years of ballet experience and also be enrolled in a two hour combination class.

 

Tumbling & Acro Class
Ages 4 to 18

Tumbling is a 45 minutes per week instructional class teaching skills such as rolls, cartwheels, round-offs, backbends, walkovers, handstands and flips at a progressive level, building strength and flexibility.  Classes are divided by ages.
Acro is for ages 10+ who have mastered basic tumbling skills.

 

Dance Troupes
Elite – Ages 14 and up
Senior – Ages 12 and up
Junior – Ages 10 to 13
Powder Puff – Ages 8 to 10
Manyet Minis – Ages 6 to 8
Hip Hop – Ages 13 and up
Show Troupe* – Ages 8 to 13

All dancers interested in Dance Troupe, excluding Show Troupe, must audition in the fall.  Students in the Elite, Senior and Junior Dance Troupes must also be enrolled in a 2 hour class. Students in the Powder Puff Dance Troupe, Manyet Minis and Show Troupe must also be enrolled in an additional combination class. Students in Hip Hop Troupe must also be enrolled in an additional hip hop class.
These dancers enjoy performing their extra routines in retirement center shows, festivals, special events and our annual recitals. Our dance troupes have received top awards in both regional and national competitions for their abilities and enthusiasm.
*Show Troupe is a non-competitive Troupe.

Adult Classes

Advanced and Intermediate Combination

These are 1¾ classes for adults (age 18+) which include tap, ballet, and jazz. Both classes perform in a recital at the end of our dance year.

The advanced class is geared towards those with a strong dance background and feel confident in leaps, jumps, turns and floor work in ballet and jazz and also with fast and difficult tap combinations. The advanced class meets on Monday evenings.

The intermediate combination class is a great way for dancers to experience ballet, tap and jazz all in one class but is not as fast paced as the advanced class.  The meeting time for this class is TBD each year.

Tap Classes

This one hour class per week is a fun way to exercise and experience the joys of dance. We perform in a recital at the end of our dance year.

Cardio Hip Hop

This 45 minute class per week is a fun way to exercise and get a fun cardio workout in.  Dance experience is not necessary.

Ballet

This 45 minute class is a great way to stretch while working on poise and ballet technique. Enjoy the gracefulness and beauty of ballet while also strengthening and toning your body. We perform in a recital at the end of our dance year.
